PreOwnedWeddingDresses.com.

The website address pretty much speaks for itself. You’ve got a wedding dress that’s sitting in your wardrobe and space is tight. You wore it on one of the most tear jerking yet happiest day of your life and you looked absolutely breathtaking. So, why not share that joy, make room in your home and make some money by selling your dress to a bride who may well be living half way across the world from you?

Founded by Josie Daga who had trouble selling her own wedding dress back in 2004, PreOwnedWeddingDresses.com is a listing platform for bridal wear. There’s a one-time listing fee of US$25 for dresses and if you’ve got accessories such as sashes, veils, jewellery or shoes, sell them for an additional fee of US$5. And as a buyer, you’ve got tens of thousands of dresses to browse through. A whopping 13,222 dresses to be exact (this figure is as at the time of writing). You can search for your favourites by designer - Pronovias, Reem Acra, Vera Wang to name a few - and what’s best is the opportunity to purchase a designer dress that may not be available in Hong Kong (been eyeing on a BHLDN dress?). If you’re still sceptical about doing online purchases/sales, what about the fact that the Baracci dress Beyonce wore in her music video ‘Best Hing I Never Had’ is currently being listed on the site? I’m not saying you should buy the dress but hey, if a celeb (or rather their team) will list there, you can too. Happy trading!

Simply Bridal: Online Bridal Shop + Giveaway!

How many times have you looked at a wedding dress and had to stop and breathe because of the astronomical price and wondered when you’ll ever afford it? Reality check. After all, not all couples who get married are minted. In comes SimplyBridal, the bridal shop founded by Lawrence Ng, that takes the stress out of wedding budgeting by removing the middleman and selling their products online (with only one showroom in L.A.) and in turn, passing the savings on to you. Now, aren’t you lucky? With a biannual collection (spring and fall) designed by a Fashion Insitute of Technology graduate whose had over twelve years of experience in the fashion industry, including BCBGMAXAZRIA and Suzi Chin for Maggy Boutique, you can be assured that the gowns are fashion forward. What sets SimplyBridal apart from other online retailers is that their dresses are custom-made. That means, no matter what size you are, your dress will be made to fit you and on the off-chance it doesn’t (especially if you’ve become a gym freak within the 40-45 days order time frame), there’s a 30-day risk free return policy that’ll give you the peace of mind. Dresses are currently shipped to the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia and New Zealand and their expansion plans mean that they may well be shipping to you (if you don’t live in any of their current shipping zones) very soon, so keep an eye out. For now, you can get a glimpse of what they produce by entering the veil giveaway at the bottom of this post!

So, where do you start before placing your order? Shelly Adams, Relationship Manager for SimplyBridal advises brides to do a search on their site for dress shapes that they like before heading into a dress shop to try on gowns in the shape of interest. Enlist the help of your bridal party so they can give you honest opinions so that if you look ridiculous in a lace dress, they’ll be sure to let you know. Follow the guide on how to take your measurements on SimplyBridal and click away. Who would’ve thought buying a wedding dress could be as simple as a few steps? There’s even a collection for bridesmaids with a variety of colours and styles that’ll make your wedding planning relatively stress-free.
